Galaxy Pixel Art Generator: build and animate a space crew of pixel art characters
Galaxy Pixel Art Generator builds space pixel art characters from 7 roles and 96 pieces, animates them in 32 ways and exports sprite sheets for Godot and Unity.

A pixel art character generator for sci-fi games
Galaxy Pixel Art Generator is our tool for building a space crew of pixel art characters. Pick a role, swap every piece, recolor anything and export a fully animated character for your game in a few clicks.
In numbers: 7 roles, 96 pixel art pieces, 32 animations and any color you like. The result is a set of sprite sheets ready for Godot, Unity, GameMaker, Phaser and any other engine that reads sprite sheets.
Recruit: seven roles that make sense
Choose a role: civilian, soldier, technician, runner, scholar, astronaut or alien. Every click builds a new character from pieces that fit that role, so soldiers get armor, helmets and rifles while civilians never do. Hit random as many times as you want and you get a whole crew that still looks like it belongs to the same game.

Equip and paint every piece
Each character is made of an item, a face, hair or a helmet, and a body. Swap any of them from the 96 pieces: laser swords, rifles, tools and med kits; helmets, hoods and caps; armors, lab coats and space suits.
Recolor any piece and the shading follows the new color, so a recolored ponytail or armor still reads as pixel art and not as a flat fill.
32 animations, with attacks that match the item
Every character gets 32 animations, and the attack fits what it holds: rifles shoot, swords slash with a trail in the blade's color and med kits heal.
- Basics: idle, walk, run, jump, attack, hurt and two deaths
- Movement: land, double jump, crouch, slide, dash, roll and wall slide
- Combat: jump attack, run and attack, crouch attack, throw, block, block hit, stunned and knocked back
- Character: victory, fall asleep, sleep, talk, nod, shake, pick up, teleport in and teleport out

Sprite sheet export for Godot, Unity, GameMaker and Phaser
When your recruit is ready, export it in the format your engine wants, or take everything in a single zip. Already have a character of your own? Load your pixel art in the Animate tab and use the same animation tools on it.
- Sprite sheet PNG with one row per animation, for any engine
- JSON in the Aseprite format, for Unity, GameMaker, Phaser and more
- Godot 4 SpriteFrames (.tres)
- Animated GIFs for previews, social posts and devlogs
- Everything in one .zip with one click
Try your character in the Test Lab
Before you export, take your recruit into the training lab: run, jump between platforms and fight waves of enemy recruits. Pick the difficulty and which roles the enemies come from, or switch on Can't lose to try every move without dying.

Runs offline on Windows, macOS and Linux
The tool is a single HTML file: double-click it and it opens in your browser. It works offline on Windows, macOS and Linux, with no install and no account. The interface is in English.
The characters you create are yours to use in your own games, free or commercial. Reselling the tool or its pieces is not allowed.
